As most of you may be aware, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has been conducting a three year comprehensive survey to gather information on Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions from consumer or commercial products sold in California. Their main goal is to update the emissions inventory and reduce the amounts of emissions from the use of chemically formulated consumer products in California.
The 2015 data reporting for the Consumer Products Program begins July 1st, 2016 and ends November 1st, 2016. The 2015 survey is the third year reporting cycle for all companies that either sold or supplied any consumer or commercial products for use in California, along with any company whose name appeared on the label of a consumer product in 2015. This is a mandatory requirement and failure to complete the required survey may result in fines of up to $10,000 per violation, per day.
The CARB survey comes at a busy time for many companies as it is only one of many surveys companies are currently completing. Other major regulatory reporting requirements due in close proximity include labelling changes for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) conversion to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and the California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 314 annual quality and emissions report. With the overload of regulatory requirements many companies currently face, we would be more than happy to assist you with completing the 2015 CARB survey and complying with this requirement.
