Health Canada to Implement One-Year Sunscreen Pilot

Health Canada announced at the recent CCTFA Regulatory Workshop that it is planning a one year sunscreen pilot program in 2017.  The pilot program would only include sunscreen products that are classified as Non-Prescription Drugs (NPD) and manufactured and imported from the United States.  The pilot program potentially will allow Canadian importers, who meet certain requirements, to directly ship the sunscreens to retailers and eliminate the quarantine and retesting upon importation into Canada.  All requirements and guidelines for this pilot program have not been established, but as we receive additional information regarding the pilot program, we will provide all details.
